I first met Baby Rowan and his parents for his newborn portraits and was thrilled to welcome them back to my studio for his first birthday portraits and cake smash. Some of my favorites from their session are below!
Our session began with photographs of Baby Rowan and his parents. Adding family portraits on to your child’s portrait session is always a wonderful way to capture this special season in your little one’s life and is a great way to get baby comfortable in a new environment.
Rowan brought all the sweet smiles as we captured him cuddling up with his mama and daddy. (Did you happen to notice how stunning mama looked in the beautiful peach dress she borrowed from my exclusive client closet? I just love how it compliments her skin tone!)
Baby Rowan was so joyful and sweet as we captured him for a few solo portraits before offering him his yummy first birthday cake. I adore capturing baby in an organic way, letting them play, crawl, and explore in my all-white studio space. Capturing baby this way allows their portraits to be organic, baby-focused and timeless.
To truly add the final bits of sweetness to baby’s first birthday portraits, mamas are welcome to bring a cake for baby to enjoy. Cake smashes are such fun for me, parents and baby! I just adore capturing baby’s face light up as they dig into the icing with their chubby little fingers!
